De oorlog op vijf continenten. De Tweede Wereldoorlog vanuit het perspectief van de ‘Nieuwe Nederlanders’ (The war on five continents. The Second World War from the perspective of the 'New Dutch') is a research project about the ascent and impact of the Second World War for populations in a number of countries and regions that got close to the Netherlands after the war.

Apart from war and migration, the project also addresses themes such as:

  • colonialism and decolonialism
  • globalisation and economic interdependencies
  • labour relations
  • racism
  • antisemitism
