Laurien Vastenhout receives 'Yad Vashem International Book Prize for Holocaust Research 2023'

Dr. Laurien Vastenhout will receive this award on 4 December 2023 for her book ‘Between Community and Collaboration: “Jewish Councils” in Western Europe under Nazi Occupation’ (Cambridge: University Press).

Yad Vashem International Book Prize For Holocaust Research

The Yad Vashem International Book Prize For Holocaust Research is awarded annually in recognition of high scholarly published research. It aims to encourage excellent and enlightening research on new topics relating to the Holocaust or those topics needing re-evaluation in light of newly discovered documentation. Research accuracy, scholarship, methodology, originality, importance of the research topic, and literary merit are important factors in the work’s consideration.

Previous recipients of this prize include Prof. Omer Bartov, Prof. Jan Grabowski, Prof. Christopher Browning and Dr. Eliyana Adler.
