Drs. Amir Taha
Biography
Amir Taha is a PhD Candidate at the Department of History at the University of Amsterdam as part of the Amsterdam School for Regional, Transnational and European Studies.
He has background in the discipline of history, with a specific interest in social movements, state formation, and cultural representations. He has published, researched and lectured extensively about the rise of paramilitarism in Iraq during my time at NIOD the Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies.
Currently he is researching political relations in Iraq under the Baath government (1968-2003) by conducting interviews in combination with archival research. As a lecturer he has taught courses on political conflict, genocide, decolonization and modernity.
