Biography
In 2021, Daan started as an intern at NIOD during his research master's in History at Utrecht University, where he conducted archival research for the biography of David Simons. After completing my master's, he began working as a research assistant on the NIOD project concerning the purges of civil servants in the Netherlands after World War II.
During and after his studies, Daan has been involved in research on various topics, including the restitution of shares of the Dutch department store, de Bijenkorf, after World War II; the personal relationships among members of the Dutch Jewish Coordination Committee in Switzerland (established in 1944); and forced labor on the English island of Alderney during the German occupation.
