Biography
Gijs Hoekstra works at the NIOD as a research assistant to the project on the Dutch Railways during the Second World War. Within the project, he is involved in archival research and computer-assisted text and data analysis. He is interested in the utility and application of computational research methods within historical research.
Gijs obtained his Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Groningen in 2022 and graduated cum laude from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2023.
